I’m sick of people using the “it’s just a joke” excuse. Or the “I was just trying to be funny, don’t be so offended, gosh”. This isn’t a bit of “lighthearted fun”. It’s disgusting.
This is not a clever advertisement. All it is doing is spreading the hurtful message that “transwomen aren’t real women”, and that life should be some kind of perverted guessing game. Spot-the-tranny! Fuck no. Transgender people aren’t trying to “trick” you. And guessing which women are “men” and which are “women”? Just stop. Please.
It makes me sick to think that enough people think that this ad was a good idea to 1) produce it, 2) approve it, and then 3) show it on a major television channel. What the fuck?
I’m sick of being told that I’m not real. I’m tired of being told that my existence is fake.
